Why Yauheni?
That's me. Yauheni is the same name as Eugene, just written in Belarusian (Яўгеній): it's a part of who I am, and I thought it would be cool to use it as a domain name. If you didn't grow up speaking Belarusian, it's almost impossible to pronounce. That's why I introduce myself to the world as Eugene. Same person — fewer broken tongues.

Career
I joined Evotor as an AOSP engineer in 2018. Since then, I have moved from hands-on device development to leading infrastructure and operations.

Deputy CTO / Head of Infrastructure & Operations
- I lead a 23-person department — DevOps, Linux/Windows, DBA, networking, NOC, Service Desk, Jira administration, and procurement — with a $2.5M annual budget and 2,200+ servers behind services for 1.3M devices and 900k MAU.
- In my first six months we had no major infrastructure outages: I made RCA mandatory, introduced incident metrics, and gave every corrective action a named owner tracked through to completion.
- I moved all operational work into a single planning and prioritization process — reworking 24/7 on-call, escalations, response playbooks, sprint planning, and team-load control — and aligned infrastructure and security to end the daily back-and-forth escalations between them.
- I also initiated the decomposition of a 10-year-old Spring monolith on a 50TB+ Oracle database: acting as analyst and architect, I mapped business processes and data flows and carved out 10+ services that already run in Kubernetes.

Head of Operating Systems Development
- I led a team of seven engineers responsible for several MediaTek-based Android platforms running on 1.7M devices.
- We brought seven POS models to mass production — from hardware bring-up and Android adaptation through certification — with four models shipping in runs of over 10,000 units and the most popular exceeding 700,000.
- Several engineers grew from junior and middle to lead roles; once the team was self-sufficient and owned the Android platform day to day, I handed it over and moved on to infrastructure.

Lead AOSP Engineer
- I developed and maintained Android 10 for 1M+ MediaTek devices, and brought up Android and Linux on four new NXP models and 50k Qualcomm devices.
- I implemented Secure Boot on MediaTek and NXP, modified bootloaders, and built Linux images with Yocto.
- To prepare the platform for PCI-PTS and security audits, I built a reproducible release CI/CD pipeline in Jenkins.

Outside work, I run a small self-hosted lab where I experiment with OpenWrt, VPNs, networking, and infrastructure automation.
